Agents of the Rebellion! Scout Camp - June 22 - 26
Learn the art of invisibility. Feel the thrill of going unseen. Strengthen your body and mind to meet any challenge. Agents of the Rebellion will learn age old skills of camouflage, techniques for building a ghillie suit, and how to navigate the landscape with minimal impact. But invisibility is more than a set of skills, it is also a mindset. We'll learn to quiet our minds, so that we may go unnoticed by even the wild animals on the landscape. We will learn to work together as a team to accomplish our objectives and communicate silently as plans change. We will study the landscape and identify what animals might give away our positions to others, how to hide our intentions and our tracks. To close the week we will test our skills in all night mission against the empire. We will build from the baseline skills towards more difficult for interesting challenges throughout the week, challenging ourselves and testing our abilities in real world situations.

Spend 4 days exploring Linville Gorge, sometimes known as "The Grand Canyon of the East.” One of North Carolina's only Wilderness Areas, Linville Gorge contains tall cliff walls, a commanding red rock spire, and majestic old forests, all within a couple day's hike. We'll set camp the first day, and spend the rest of the trip day-hiking with lighter packs so that we can explore every nook and cranny of this incredible place. Some hikes may be long, and some trails may be steep and strenuous, but we'll never be far from a cool, clear swimming hole to rest and rejuvenate in. If you're ready to get deep into the wilderness, to tell stories and sing songs around the campfire, and to settle down to sleep each night happily tired, this trip is for you!

“TFA is always really fun to arrive to because it’s all my friends and favorite instructors there, and theres always some really interesting and fun activities during the day like a gorgeous hike in a secret part of Asheville, or a question to ponder or a game to play, theres always something to highlight my day!”

What a day at TFA is like:
First things first i get dropped off. i love seeing all my friends! Sometimes we play games while we wait for everyone to arrive. We get in the van to drive to some place to hike. we do morning circle where we say our names and something we are grateful for. then we get hiking. my favorite part is when we play games like camouflage and watch tower. I definitely feel like ive learned a lot at TFA like how to start a fire with a stick and to recognize different birds etc. ive met so many amazing people. i haven’t been in TFA very long but from what I’ve experienced i think its 100% worth it. its so fun and everyone is so kind and welcoming!

We'll be camping out on the shores of beautiful Lake Santeetlah, cooking delicious meals over the fire, splashing around in the cove, and playing games all day and all night.
