Sign up for Seasonal Adventure Days and join awesome TFA mentors for fascinating adventures that can’t be had on a regular weekly TFA program day. Each time they’ll experience a unique beautiful area and natural phenomena worth the extra drive and thrilling to explore! Teens will return feeling satisfied (and maybe/probably a little sore) from the physical challenge, and inspired by our wondrous region.
MOUNT MITCHELL!!! Sunday May 17
Can you even say you’ve seen this region if you haven’t hiked Mount Mitchell?? Well, you are in luck! Luke Cannon and Jen Friedman are leading a hike up Mount Mitchell on May 17! This hike will be a SHOW-STOPPER. Get a challenging hike under your belt while experiencing the spectacular beauty of May in Southern Appalachia! The highest peak east of the Mississippi River, it promises to be physically demanding. Hike all day, take in the unique aspects of your surroundings, marvel at the biodiversity, and learn a lot without even trying with Luke’s engaging commentary. Go home feeling pleasantly worn out with a sense of physical challenge and accomplishment. All while hanging out with friends and WITHOUT the distraction of screens! What could be better?

Seasonal Adventure days general Details:
WHO: Teens age 14 through the end of their senior year in high school
WHAT: Hiking, Core Connection, Naturalist Adventures + More with TFA mentors
WHEN: One Sunday each season, 9:00 AM- 4:30PM - unless otherwise stated for extra-special adventures!
Winter: March 14 - Roan Mountain!
Spring: May 17 - Fabulous Location TBD!
Summer: July 26 - Panthertown swimming spot!
WHERE: Beautiful locations in our region with convenient central meetup in Asheville
Payment: $60 per day
